Trackside Auction takes you back in time to an old style auction barn. Located next to the Norfolk Southern Railroad train tracks, guest are entertained with a lively family auction atmosphere.
The auction barn is a 100-year-old lumber warehouse with the original decor renovated and preserved. The auction barn also serves Fred's famous authentic southern Bar-B-Que and other Homemade Dishes and Desserts in its Snack Bar.
Trackside Auction's mission is to offer a variety of antique and collectable advertising and country store pieces.
ROBERT P. SMITH, III
Robert was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. Robert and his family reside in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tryon, North Carolina. Robert graduated magna cum laude from Lees-McRae College with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1992.
Robert was in the golf business since college and was a P.G.A. Member for 14 years. He has opened four golf courses, including Reynolds National at Reynolds Plantation in Georgia and Woodfin Ridge in South Carolina. Robert was the General Manager of High Vista Country Club in Arden, North Carolina and has done consulting for various golf facilities in the South East.
Robert graduated from the Southeastern School of Auctioneering and is licensed in both North and South Carolina.
Robert enjoys all kinds of collecting, but specializes in antique advertising, petrolinia and country store. He travels all over the country searching out unique items for the auction.
